The Indian and Pakistani governments are on a collision course, as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, claimed that Pakistan would respond with “a full spectrum of power, both conventional and nuclear,” in retaliation.
Steps that India planned as a major English-speaking response to terrorism, with Pakistan in mind included the termination of all identifiable terrorism targets in India with Pakistani nationals linked to said terrorism.
These actions were taken as of the midnight hour following the terror attack on the weekend tourists in Kashmir’s Pahalga,m where, indisputably, 26 human lives were taken.
Approximately two weeks later, Jamali, while being interviewed by news organization RT on Saturday (May 3), declared, “There are some other leaked documents whereby it has been decided to strike certain areas of Pakistan. So, that makes us feel that this is going to happen and its imminent.”
He further explained, “Our intelligence has papers and we have evidence that all these preparations have been done regarding military aggression against Pakistan.”
Jamali further state that, “We, in Pakistan will use (our) full spectrum of power; both conventional and nuclear.” India suspended the Indus Water treaty with Pakistan following the dastardly terror attack on Saturday targeting tourist in Jammu & Kashmir’s Pahalgam, unequivocally killing at least 26.
In reference to water usage, Jamali underscored, “Any attempt to usurp the water of the lower riparian, or to stop it, or to divert it would be, as far as Pakistan is concerned, an act of war and was going to be responded to with a full force of power, including full spectrum of power,” he said.
The envoy underscored that, “As the two countries are nuclear powers as well, and there is all the more reason to de-escalate these tensions I think the role of the international community comes in.”
Jamali also stated, “And definitely we are expecting that powers like China and Russia can come in and participate in these investigations.” India ordered all Pakistani nationals to depart immediately with a 48-hour notice for them to do so.
All visas sanctioned were cancelled and India suspended visa services. New Delhi also restricted the number of Pakistani officials in India beforehand.
